In the first few months of this year, over 2,220 people were employed in the province of Las Tunas. This represents 96.1 percent of the potential workforce overseen by the Delegation of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- In the total number of job placements, there are university graduates, graduates, mid-level technicians, those released from the labor market, and those released from penitentiary centers; 1,147 were for the state sector and 870 for the non-state sector - of these, 1,303 are young people - as part of the work carried out by the province to guarantee employment for those in need.

The most popular specialties were Civil Construction, Accounting, Agronomy, Gastronomic Services, Hotel Accommodation, Human Capital Management and Food Processing.

However, a group of 158 mid-level technicians are still awaiting placement because they did not accept job offers, and are being followed up by prevention groups in each Popular Council.

More than 300 people were also given land in usufruct for food production, 808 people joined new projects in the non-state sector, and six micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises were created in the municipality of Las Tunas.

Over two thousand employees are working remotely or subjected to the teleworking modality.

Workers in the Tunas territory are experiencing interruptions due to a lack of raw materials, energy, and fuel, and shortages of spare parts. The most affected entities include the Food Industry, Local Industries, Transport, Constructive Maintenance, Acinox, Port Services, Dairy Products, the Latex Factory, and the Construction and Assembly Company.

According to the Government's orientation in the province, the management of the companies and other state entities must carry out labor availability processes, to identify all the existing potentials and reserves to guarantee alternative employment for all the workers who declare themselves available.
