The province of Las Tunas deserved the national venue of the activities for the 60th anniversary of the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM) and the 59th of the Young Communists League (UJC).
Las Tunas, Cuba.- Maydelys Mackenzie Tamayo, president of the OPJM in the territory, made it public through her account on Facebook social media; a post in which she also thanked the work and enthusiasm of the 51,735 students from first to ninth grades, who make up the pioneer groups.
"There are many reasons that motivate us to maintain our commitment to the Revolution and our history. We will be celebrating with optimism, enthusiasm and joy," she said.
For several days, the territory is getting ready for the celebration because of the approach of April 4, because even in the midst of the epidemiological situation that we live in, they have organized a program of activities that involves the pioneers in a leading way.
The results support such efforts. Las Tunas stands out in the country in topics such as knowledge contests and the activation of pioneer movements at all educational levels, among others.
Young people, likewise, are at the forefront in food production, blood donations, and the vigilance to stop the COVID-19 pandemic, immersed in whatever it is necessary to face in each of the municipalities of Las Tunas; of course, without giving up the smile and good energy.
Anniversary activities will extend throughout the school year and are motivated by the 8th Communist Party Congress, the 95th and 90th birthdays of Fidel and Raúl Castro Ruz, respectively, and the so-called Historical Generation of the Cuban Revolution.
