The Provincial Government Council evaluated the plan and budget for the current year, which will be presented to the workers from the 29th and throughout February, after being analyzed by the municipal assemblies of the People's Power.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Víctor Pereira Santiesteban and Elder Santana Bárcenas, provincial directors of Economy and Planning, and Finance and Price, in that order, presented to the members of the collegiate and deliberative management body, the notification of the proposals made in the different budget items and of the plan that serves as a compass for the work in the current calendar.

Although they assured that, despite certain adjustments, a large group of indicators remains as they were proposed from the territory and continue to benefit the sectors of Education and Public Health.

Pereira Santiesteban insisted that the following priorities are maintained, among others, the follow-up of the Trade improvement program, the execution of local development projects, the assurance of efficiency in the investment processes, and the production of exportable items.

For his part, Santana Bárcenas explained the importance of working on assigned revenues (from tax and non-tax revenues), the collection of which is entirely attributed to the budgets of the provinces and municipalities and has a growth of 200 million pesos concerning the last calendar.

This purpose requires identifying all revenue reserves to the budget or other sources that allow financing measures and projects because they are used to cover the expenses generated by municipal subordination activities.

In this regard, Yelenis Tornet Menéndez, governor of the province, indicated to the state enterprises to look for income, because they have the responsibility to capture 70 percent of the ceded income and contribute to make up for the budget deficit that exceeds three billion pesos.
She also urged the responsible execution of budget items and banishing the inefficiencies that indicate the waste of financial resources granted mainly for the development of social programs that improve the living conditions of the population.

Meanwhile, Walter Simón Noris, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party, called to put at the center of the budget the realization of actions that respond to the dissatisfactions of the people and, he warned, that achieving the fiscal surplus cannot be the result of the increase of prices, but of the increase in the production of goods and services.
Simón Noris and Tornet Menéndez called for discipline in financial information, which is a tool for making decisions and channeling processes.

Odalis Batista Pérez, secretary general of the Provincial Committee of the CTC, said that the trade union movement is immersed in the preparation of its cadres to develop the presentation of the plan and the budget to the labor collectives, and has scheduled 1,946 general assemblies and 146 of representatives covering all sectors.

The Provincial Council of Government also evaluated the results of the contracting of agricultural products, the Program of Attention to the Elderly, compliance with Resolution 409 of the Comptroller of the Republic, and the improvement of the Audit System in the territory.
