Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas have reached an agreement for a ceasefire and the release of hostages that puts an end to more than a year of fighting in the Gaza Strip, US media reported here today.

Washington.- The agreement comes after a week of intense negotiations mediated by Qatar, the United States, and Egypt.

A draft of the pact had been agreed upon at the beginning of the week, according to Arab, American, and Israeli officials told CBS News. (PL)
