China rejected on Thursday the US State Department's update of information on bilateral relations, reiterated its decision to safeguard national interests, and called for respectful talks.
Beijing.- Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun expressed strong dissatisfaction with Washington’s revision of the relationship between the two countries on the official website.
“It distorts the truth, denigrates China’s foreign policy, and advocates so-called China-US strategic competition,” the spokesperson stressed.
Guo reiterated that Beijing’s stance on mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation is consistent and clear.
“We urge the US side to take concrete steps to abide by the consensus reached by the two-countries leaders, stop misleading US citizens and the international community, and handle relations objectively and rationally,” he said.
Guo expressed his willingness to work with Washington for the stable, sound, and sustainable development of bilateral relations. (PL)
