On Friday, Honduras welcomed the International Coffee Organization's (ICO) confirmation to hold its World Coffee Summit 2025 in this Central American nation.
Tegucigalpa.- The ICO ratified that it will hold its 140th General Assembly in this country on September 22-26, positioning it as a reference in the global coffee industry.
The announcement was received with great enthusiasm by President Xiomara Castro's government, which underscored the relevance of this event to strengthen coffee, tourism, and economic development in the region.
The 77 member states of the ICO, including 42 exporters and the main world importers, unanimously decided that Honduras, due to its leadership, will host the intergovernmental organization's meeting for the first time in history.
This meeting, to be attended by some 200 delegates, will strengthen strategic alliances and highlight the importance of Honduran coffee in international markets. (PL)
