Heavy rains

The Cuban Institute of Meteorology (Insmet) reported a predominance of clouds in the western region and the central north coast, with some rain since early morning.

Havana, Cuba.- The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy skies, with the afternoon bringing more clouds across many regions. Showers, rain, and thunderstorms are expected to continue into the evening. The forecast adds that maximum temperatures will be between 29 and 32 degrees Celsius in the western half, and up to 34 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country, while at night temperatures will be between 24 and 27 degrees Celsius.

INSMET also details that temperatures will be lower in inland locations and winds will be northeast in the west and center, with speeds between 15 and 30 kilometers per hour, up to 35 in areas of the north coast with higher winds. There will be variable and weak winds in the rest of the country.

The weather forecast warns that there will be tides on the northwest coast with slight water accumulations in low-lying areas, including the Havana Seawall. Surf to the south of Isle of Youth and little surf to the rest of the coasts. (PL)
