A new edition of the Cucalambeana Fiesta is bringing joy to the Balcón de Oriente these days. As usual, the event began with a parade from the Provincial Council of Plastic Arts to Plaza Martiana, in the city's historic center. This time we had the joy of being accompanied by the Minister of Culture Alpidio Alonso and prestigious cultural traditions from different parts of the country.

How can we measure the contributions of those who give their body and soul every day for the greater good over so many years? How can we say thank you in the best way possible without seducing egos or triumphalism? Familiar faces and necessary souls gathered yesterday in the lobby of the Tunas Theater. The culture of Las Tunas thanked them through decorations, even though it knows that they deserve more but, as Martí said, "To honor, honors."

A new edition of the Supreme Party of the Cuban Peasantry is taking place in Las Tunas until July 2nd, the climax of a process that included 176 grassroots and eight municipal events, in tribute to the 195th anniversary of Juan Cristóbal Nápoles Fajardo (El Cucalambé).

The El Cucalambé Honorary Chair, of the University of Las Tunas, greeted the arrival of a new edition of the Cucalambeana Fiesta with its gathering "Esta cárcel de aire puro," held at the Student Residence of the José (Pepito) Tey campus, belonging to the house of higher studies.

The Central Act for Cuban Press Day, in Las Tunas, took place this March 14 with the participation of colleagues from the provincial media and national correspondents, after experiencing similar events with groups from the south and north regions.
