The inhabitants of Las Tunas are infinitely grateful for the introduction of 20 eco-taxis that reinforce the main routes, whose main departure and destination points are the Doctor Ernesto Guevara de la Serna General Teaching Hospital and other health institutions.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- This batch of electric vehicles, at 10 pesos per person, consolidates the country's intention to improve local transportation through new investments and the inclusion of self-employed workers who offer services using their own means, such as cars, motorbikes, bicycle taxis, and cars.
What a relief, I had to get up very, very early to catch a bus to the Ernesto Guevara hospital, nurse Laudelina Perot Sánchez told the Cuban News Agency.
Next to her, at the exit point located in an area next to the Casa Insólita, an elderly woman joined the dialogue to point out: "I had to pay at least 50 pesos for a motorbike to get around; now everything needs to go as it did at the beginning."
The ecotaxis joined the network of similar vehicles that have been circulating in Las Tunas and throughout the country for several years. Some of these vehicles have faced problems with compliance with the transport entity.
Doing what is expected is what the population is demanding, and they have been dissatisfied on several occasions with the behavior of some of the drivers of these leased vehicles.
Responding to these popular concerns should be in the sights of the authorities in this sector and the inspectorate so that everything flows under the alternative decisions approved by the highest political and governmental authorities of the province.
Since May, it has been compulsory for vehicles on the main roads of Las Tunas to contribute to public transport. There are inspectors at different stops, who are in charge of stopping the means of transport-to-transport the population, an action that was practiced for years, but had been extinguished.
