The attention to older adults at BANDEC branches is prioritized.

Cashing the retirees and pensioners' checks at the province's bank branches is a priority for the staff of the Credit and Commerce Bank (BANDEC, by its Spanish acronym). This segment of customers receives individual attention.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Leannis González Céspedes, Cashier Supervisor at Las Tunas Branch 6441, told 26 that "Branches with ATMs reserve one of these machines to meet the needs of this group of people, who receive special attention with the assistance of bank employees, who permanently organize the line and assist them in withdrawing all the cash corresponding to their monthly checkbooks.

"At the same time, these customers are served inside bank branches, through traditional teller windows, with the same priority for their payments."

Nearly 120,000 residents of Las Tunas are classified as senior citizens aged 60 or older; i.e., 25.2 percent of the effective population, slightly lower than the national average. The municipality of Jesús Menéndez has the highest aging rate in the province (26.5), while Majibacoa has the lowest (23.7).

Empathy and support for this age group are a priority for those working in the municipalities. BANDEC branches guarantee full pension payments and timely care for the institution's employees.
