Julio Antonio Mella Park is under repair before the 3rd Elite League.

The Julio Antonio Mella Stadium revives its charms in preparation for the upcoming start of the 3rd Elite Baseball League.

The Budgeted Unit of the Provincial Sports Directorate has invested more than seven million pesos and carried out construction work in the bullpens and dugouts, reinforcing the metal structures and painting areas of the stands and the scoreboard with the Las Tunas team's signature colors.

Likewise, the padding on the fences was replaced and/or repaired, besides its covering with green and red tarps. Although the red clay has yet to arrive to improve the playing areas' condition, the grass is already receiving irrigation.

With the start of the national pastime, the main baseball ground in the Balcón de Oriente will debut home plate, and the building near left field will display the team's current logo after relinquishing the old version to nostalgia with many brushstrokes.

Efforts are underway to transform the "Mella" into a venue deserving of the elite status of the Green-Red squad, which won the crown in the 58th, 62nd, and 63rd editions of Cuba’s National Baseball Series.
