The Organization for Southern Cooperation (OSC) holds its second General Assembly until November 28th with member states and partners to promote a third path to development and foster a new multilateralism based on equity.
Addis Ababa.- The OSC is the highest governing body that approves the organization’s programmatic activities, including operational performance, budget, and management.
A press release highlighted the OSC's achievements in these two years, including the establishment and consolidation of the Secretariat and the successful implementation of the Great South Information System, which democratizes access to and production of knowledge and provides more than 500,000 digital resources to universities and research centers in our Member States.
Likewise, the OSC Institute strengthens its members' national and institutional capacities, and its programs benefit more than 17 countries.
The Framework for Strengthening Exchanges between Youth and Regions through Education, which facilitates South-South student and academic mobility, is another of the initiatives launched during the mentioned period, with a total of 400 postgraduate scholarships in Brazil, the statement added.
The OSC, created on January 29th, 2020 in Djibouti, is formed by 28 States from Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia Pacific, civil society organizations, and global and regional bodies. (PL)
