Las Tunas celebrated the Builder's Day

Every December 5th, the Day of the Builder is celebrated in Cuba and, at the same time, the anniversary of the constitution of the Union of that sector. Both reasons were remembered today by the workers at the headquarters of the Las Tunas Provincial Maintenance and Construction Company (EMAC).

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The event was a stimulus to collective commitment in a very difficult year, in which the effort to sustain and materialize the outlined objectives grew in the face of difficulties. Those who stood out on this path received the Armando Mestre Medal; men and women with more than 25 years of work and active participation in the integral constructive development of the country.

The meeting was attended by Manuel Pérez Gallego, a member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) in the province, Jaime Chiang Vega, governor; Odalis Batista Pérez, secretary-general of the Cuban Workers Confederation (CTC); and Elizabeth Torres Machado, head of the provincial Construction Union secretariat.

"Today we can say that we have fulfilled all of the company's programs, and some of them are overfulfilled, with the supply of resources acquired during the year," engineer Pablo Enrique Paneque Almaguer, the director of the EMAC in Las Tunas, explained.

“That puts us in better conditions to face 2023, for which we have several projections; among them, is to continue encouraging the local production of construction materials, mainly in clay products: brick, tiles, tubes, and connections. That is where the main efforts will be directed because we are aware that the limitations of the country will continue, and we must focus on what we can do.”
