Puerto Padre, Las Tunas.- "We celebrated the date with discreet results at the end of May, after a very difficult 2022, which ended with 9.8 million pesos in losses. However, today, thanks to the effort and dedication of the workers, since February, we have been making profits. This is worthy of celebration and recognition," said Miguel Salas Silva, the company's director.

The capacity to innovate and the sense of belonging of managers and workers are the coordinates in the navigation toward sustainability. In the words of Salas Silva, "Since last year and after the complex situation imposed on us by the world crisis, in addition to the tightening of the blockade with the increase of measures by Donald Trump's mandate, the covid-19 pandemic and the decrease in sugar cane production, we adopted a plan of measures to mitigate the current situation and obtain income through other activities."

"These activities include renting port equipment, labor force, space, as well as food production and organizational instructions, internally, to minimize expenses."

Aware of the challenges ahead, they keep their focus on improving the monetary vitality, while perfecting the mechanisms for the transfer of goods, a key aspect in the food revival of the country.
