2nd Soluciones Cuba 2023 Exhibition in Las Tunas

Although the spirit of resistance of the Cuban people and, especially, of its working class is tangible in all spheres of life, its highest expression is in the workplaces, both in products and services, where they make possible even the impossible to sustain the most complex processes in all sectors.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- As a sign for those who believe that all is lost, the members of the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR) in the country are building, by dint of ingenuity and dedication, a monument to creative resistance.

This was demonstrated in Las Tunas by its protagonists, simple men, and women, whose work, almost anonymous, in many entities, due to negligence or irresponsibility, little pondered, saves obstacles, and contributes to development.

The second edition of the Soluciones Cuba 2023 Exhibition, is filled with achievements in the extensive areas of the provincial palace of Pioneros José Martí, located on the outskirts of the city, with innovations and rationalizations that show how its associates make their jobs trenches from which they face every day the rigor of the intensified U.S. blockade and the impact of the economic crisis.

The meeting was attended by more than 160 entities of the territory and more than 300 innovators, with samples of work already bearing fruit in the sugar, light, energy, and metallurgical industries, education, and health...

Their makers, summoned by Anir, arrived, exhibited, and explained concrete solutions that substitute imports, dynamize processes, restore the useful life of machines, take advantage of waste to manufacture new articles, and recover spare parts... with significant contributions to the country's economy and make work sustainable.

For example, the ingenuity of Eliécer Castro Sosa, an outstanding innovator and president of the Committee of Innovators and Rationalizers (CIR) of the Antonio Guiteras agroindustrial sugar company, in Puerto Padre, made possible the solution to the problem presented by the Chinese centrifuges to extract sugar, now commercially available in plants in Las Tunas, Ciego de Ávila, and Holguín, and in the Héctor Molina refinery, in Havana. For this work, among so many other innovations, Eliécer is nominated for the National Prize for the best economic impact awarded by ANIR.

Salvador Sariol Vistorte, director of the Department of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of the provincial government, praises these efforts and results because they alleviate, in part, the pressures of the difficult economic situation facing the nation, "they substitute imports and help to face and overcome the obstacles of the blockade because sometimes we have the money, but these obstacles prevent us from acquiring what we need," he says.

"There are the solutions to many of these problems in the factories, culture, transportation, and this response is part of the country's request to evaluate how to substitute imports, how to reduce costs," he acknowledges."

Meanwhile, Luis Hugo Negret Pérez, member of the ANIR National Bureau, assures that the objective of making the different economic actors aware of the innovative potential of the territory has been achieved to generalize the best experiences."

Yaneicy Ávila Escalona, president of the ANIR Provincial Bureau, insisted on recognizing the role of the associates in the current complex scenario and called on them to continue contributing from innovation and rationalization to the objective of procuring economic development and social welfare."
