Yanet Gómez Blanco, elected delegate to the workers' congress.

The Cuban Workers Central Union (CTC in Spanish) has been immersed in the organic process of its 22nd Congress, scheduled to be held next April in Havana. The trade unions of Las Tunas are selecting their delegates to the most important event of the Cuban working class.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Among the 40 representatives of the state and private sectors at the great meeting of the proletariat in the country is Yanet Gómez Blanco, a worker in the medium-sized private enterprise Durkal, chosen for her outstanding union work in the sector.

“It is important to develop non-state forms amid the complex situation that the country is going through, we can also address the acquisition of parts and spare parts for the means of transport that sometimes the state sector does not have the means to assume and we contribute to a large extent,” said Yanet.

The selection is part of the 22nd Congress assemblies at the grassroots level. The delegation from Las Tunas to the event is formed during this process.

Yanisley Soto Medina, secretary of the provincial Bureau of Transport and Ports, said “Durkal was chosen to elect its delegate because it is the section that stands out most in trade union work. Yanet is a comrade with extensive experience in the workers' organization; she has been a member of the Public Administration Union Bureau and can present the work of Las Tunas transportation workers with arguments.”
