These days the specialists of the Integral Supervision Directorate in the municipality of Las Tunas have intense work, since the beginning of the Ordering Task, inspection actions have increased both in state and self-employed workers establishments.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Arcadis Estrada Rodríguez, director of the entity, explained that the group is trained to face the violations related to the increase in prices and that during the month of January the supervision and control visits have increased.

"We have reinforced the tasks of confronting speculative prices and applied exemplary measures when violations have been detected in different activities, not only in the commercialization of agricultural products, but also in gastronomy and other sectors."

Before the implementation of the new prices, some organizational actions were carried out in the territory, led by the Municipal Assembly of the People's Power, such as the constitution of five working groups to visit different districts of the territory, including areas where self-employees are concentrated.

"We contacted more than 1,600 people. We also met in the municipal government with the boards of directors of the local subordinate entities and the retail marketing companies of the territory, such as the Food, Collection, Commerce, Gastronomy, Services and others companies, also those of national subordination under our regulation.

"They are imposed on their responsibility to protect consumers and know the prices of their spheres."

Estrada Rodríguez stressed that the population of the provincial capital also has an important role that, unfortunately, is not always fulfilled because they do not give the inspection and supervision authorities sufficient support during the performance of controls.

"We have been in state and private establishments and many times people have not wanted to support us. For example, they do not allow us to check the weighing of the product and when we have asked them how much they were charged they do not answer us. We do not want people to fine anyone because they are not empowered to do so. For that, there are specialists, who have the objects to prove whether it is being dispatched well or badly and, in that case, re-establish legality. We want the goods to be sold at the established prices."

The official specified that, if someone knows of price violations, there is the possibility to make complaints by telephone 31371238, the direct line for citizen service.

"We have a couple of inspectors in each of the 19 popular councils of the municipality. When the complaint is indicated, it is attended in the shortest possible time, depending on the magnitude of the denounced situation. In general, the staff of the Comprehensive Supervision Directorate is prepared to accompany the people in the just claim that prices are not violated.
