Third baseman Denis Peña

The third baseman Denis Peña is the only player from Las Tunas included in the list of about 90 prospects of Cuban baseball, made by the National Directorate of this sport with the aim of developing the base of the Cuba team in the period 2020-2024.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- In the first list sent to each province, only the 24-year-old infielder represents the Lumberjacks from Las Tunas. According to the DeporCuba website, the first version of the list includes nine receivers, 18 infielders, 10 outfielders and 53 pitchers, aged no more than 25 years.

The digital publication itself, with information from the journalism student Renier González Jr., presents some of the names that have been included, among which the capitals Andy Rodríguez, Brayan Chi and Andrés Hernández, from Havana; Yoelkis Guibert and Yúnior Tur, from Santiago de Cuba; Ariel Martínez, from Matanzas; and Lázaro Martín, from Ciego de Ávila, among others.
