Puerto Padre, Las Tunas.- "Hello! How are you at home?" It is the beginning of the talk. He is not overcome by fatigue; he is used to challenging long hours, because the graduate in Nursing Norberto Pena Peña was born to unfold in the noble act of curing the sick.

He carries with him the teachings of his work collective: the staff of the Guillermo Domínguez López General Teaching Hospital, in Puerto Padre; also those acquired in other fights for life across the seas.

Those grateful people receive him as a "white-winged angel", ready to save dreams and restore hope: "We are very grateful for the attention we have received, the communication with our family is good and among us here is spectacular," he says with the accent of a genuine Cuban.

He describes the landscape that serves as a lap, thousands of kilometers from the authentic palace created with Mayelín Miguel, his wife, and his children. "Turín is a very beautiful city, built up, people at home by government order, few people on the streets, very respectful."

He delves into the situation and, with the wisdom of the hard days of Ebola in Sierra Leone and the reality of the COVID-19, comments: "I think that here it takes time to control the spread because there is no active inquiry, like in Cuba. This has been suggested to the authorities and that we can also help them due to the experience we have. They are very happy with this initiative, we wait for their decisions, since we work together and for a protocol that is inviolable.”

"Look, I was on duty last Sunday, and more or less, at 3:00 am I was taking a tour to observe the patients, while I said to myself: I have to take care of myself;” and he remembers his walk around the world saving lives: Angola, Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone and Bolivia, in the latter he experienced the pain of the coup d'état against Evo Morales and shed tears at the collapse of the nation.

“I am sending you this photo, maybe it will help you with something; it was when we arrived, we were very well received, this region is called Piedmont.
