On 12 December 2017, the United Nations proclaimed 12 December as International Universal Health Coverage Day (UHC Day)

The World Health Organization (WHO) called on individuals, communities, and organizations to take action for a healthy future for all, with equity and solidarity, as International Universal Health Coverage Day is celebrated on Monday.

Geneva.- The day aims to raise awareness regarding the need for resilient health systems and universal health coverage (UHC) with multiple stakeholder partners.

UHC counselors join on this date to tell the stories of millions who still lack access and coverage to essential, comprehensive, quality health services based on Primary Health Care.

In addition, calling on leaders to make higher and wiser investments in this area and encourage several groups to make commitments that will help bring the world closer to UHC by 2030.
