Identification plates are set in the homes of the internationalists of this territory

The homes of the approximately 200 Las Tunas’ health professionals, who make up the Henry Reeve International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics, are identified with a plaque, in recognition of the altruism and courage of the collaborators and the unconditional support of their families.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Speaking to the Cuban News Agency, Manuel Sosa Lozada, head of the Provincial Collaboration Unit, said that this is an initiative of the Health System in Las Tunas the province and that it is about placing an identification plate in the homes of the internationalists of this territory who carry out missions in more than twenty countries, as members of the "Henry Reeve.”

The plates, formed by using PVC and designed by the computer science team of the sector, began to be placed in the homes of internationalists in the municipality of Puerto Padre and will gradually be located in each of the remaining seven territories until concluding in the provincial capital.

To the home of Norberto Pena Peña, who recently returned after facing the Covid-19 in the Piedmont region of Turin, Italy, authorities from the Municipal Directorate of Health in Puerto Padre and co-workers of the nurse arrived to carry out the imposition of the signage.

A heart that encloses the Flag of the Solitary Star and hands in applause position, like the one that the people tip each night in gratitude to the brave men and women who save lives, are among the elements that make up the plaque, which is also located where Norbelys Rodríguez Tejeda resides, the only Puerto Padre’s resident that was part of the Cuban brigade in Saint Lucy.

Luis Orlando Feria Cabello is another of those recognized in the northern municipality. This nurse who fought the new coronavirus in Andorra already has the identification on the facade of his house that clearly reads: "Here lives a member of the Henry Reeve brigade."

Many of the collaborators who are still facing the new coronavirus have expressed through social media their joy at this initiative that makes an important mention of families as a fundamental pillar in the performance of health professionals.
