COVID-19 in Las Tunas

Two new clinic discharges were informed in this eastern province, with a total of 14 people recovered from COVID-19, out of the 16 confirmed, and only one remains admitted to the Fermín Valdés Domínguez hospital, in Holguín.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- After receiving the treatment, the 21-year-old pregnant woman, who lives in Delicias, Puerto Padre municipality, reported as positive on April 24, and the 63-year-old patient also from that municipality, reported on April 30, returned to their homes. They will now be under surveillance for a period of 14 days in their health area; then the PCR test that will determine the epidemiological discharge will be repeated.

According to the health authorities here, 13 Las Tunas are kept as suspects in the isolation centers. Another 228 are in the premises enabled for the entry of contacts.
24 rapid diagnostic tests were performed here on Wednesday and 74 PCR results were received, all negative. It was also known that the active inquiry in the communities included 192,924 people, of whom 25 manifested respiratory symptoms and two were referred for admission.

On the other hand, nine reported their health status through the Virtual Investigator, a tool that has already been used by nine thousand 515 inhabitants of this province.

At the close of May 13, Cuba reported 20 new positive cases, none deceased, and 57 medical discharges; as well as 466 patients are admitted to hospitals for clinical-epidemiological surveillance, and another 2,794 people are controlled in their homes, from the Primary of Health.
