COVID-19 in Las Tunas

Today, the clinical discharge of three female patients diagnosed as positive for COVID-19 in previous days was reported, thus accumulating 12 recovered from the 15 confirmed cases.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- According to the health authorities, the last recovered are from the municipality of Puerto Padre. The first, 30 years old, from the health area of the Romárico Oro polyclinic and the second, 28 years old, from the town of Delicias, from the "Rafael Izquierdo", both announced on April 21.

The third is the 23-year-old patient, resident in San Manuel, of the Rafael Izquierdo polyclinic in Puerto Padre, reported on April 22. All these cases were detected as a result of a focus control around a six-month-old patient who was also positive for the disease.

The two patients still admitted to the Holguín hospital evolve favorably. They are the 21-year-old pregnant woman from the town of Delicias and her father-in-law, a 63-year-old patient, also a resident of the so-called Blue Village.

Likewise, 19 people suspected of having the disease are in isolation centers in Las Tunas, and another 220, in the category of contacts, in premises destined for that purpose. In Cerro de Caisimú, there are 16 travelers who arrived on special flights from Ecuador and Mexico.

Four fast tests were carried out on Wednesday for a total of 3,163. The results of 119 real-time PCR were received and more than 60 were sent today.

A total of 193 thousand 640 people were investigated and, of them, 64 were identified with respiratory symptoms; through the Virtual Investigator the health status of 228 was known, as well.

Now it is time to be aware and more disciplined, warn the health authorities; this is the only way to avoid an increase in those infected and, therefore, pain in families.
