What started out as a whisper in some houses is now becoming a welcome reality. We Cubans are already joining the European initiative to applaud the health personnel. We do it right at 9:00 pm and the fortune of having only one-time zone makes possible that from Cabo de San Antonio to Punta de Maisí, all Cuba, be united in this beautiful act of gratitude.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- We at 26Digital decided to look into everyone's personal motives. That's why we started to search in social networks for those who echoed the applauses from here and then published it in their profiles, mostly on Facebook and Twitter. Then we ask them for voice messages with their criteria. And none of those called said no. We received many over the phone and even a close friend called our attention, somewhat angrily, for not calling him to give his reasons.
The fact is that it is not surprising that Cuba is able to think of everyone in the midst of the most difficult circumstances. We applaud for the health personnel, yes, but also for those who guarantee hygiene, ambulances, food in the market, bread in the regular stores, waste collection, water supply and even what might seem unthinkable to the wittiest of us in normal times.
Because one thing is clear to us: these are not normal times. That is why we applaud them from the hope and the heart. Danielle has a tambourine for such matters; Yurima and the girls, a lot of noise; Kadir decided that his wife, who speaks more beautifully, should tell us for both of them; Gretel, loquacious, gave thanks and more thanks, and William announced to the wind that this is a strong country, one that fights.
Every night, new ones are added. Some can be seen at the balconies and porches, just out of the bathroom; others with the food on the table waiting for them; there are those who did not reach the chicken in the line and those who canceled their visit to grandfather because the bus was late and these are not days of hugs. People of Cuba in a round of applause at 9:00 p.m., full of motives, energy, passion, love, future. Nobody doubts it, for things like that, also #CubaSaves.
