Sanitary hearing in the municipality of Jesús Menéndez

Going from health guidelines and hearings to practice is the philosophy underway in the province of Las Tunas to check in situ how preventive measures are being carried out to avoid the spread of the new coronavirus.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Throughout the day and from very early in the morning, Public Health professionals and Medicine students knock on doors - house by house and work centers-, to make sure of the hygienic conditions of each place and the presence of chlorine, soap and water, for washing the hands of people who enter each room.
The physical check is accompanied by a quick exchange with the members of families present at homes and staff from work and student centers, to specify some indications and to verify the existence or not of people with any symptom of respiratory disease.

Very good behavior and concern of the boys, we told them to sit down and they did not, because they said they had to go to many houses, but they asked and checked everything, Mercedes Peralta, a resident of the “Aguilera” neighborhood, told the ACN after being visited by young students.

It is our duty to respond to this call, and we do not do it as a routine, but aware of what these visits to each house or center may mean; although it must be said that the vast majority appreciates it, but others do not give it much importance; several students, present in a medical office on the Emilio González Street, in the Aguilera district itself, agreed.

Parallel to these practical actions, the highest political and government authorities of the province continue to adopt measures to avoid the concentration of inhabitants in festivities and shops, attentive to detect any vulnerability of the planned program.
