The southernmost of the municipalities of Las Tunas today added a new case of COVID-19 from a confirmed contact, to reach the figure of 25.

"Amancio", Las Tunas.- The master's degree in Infectious Diseases, Víctor Tamayo Torres, said that they are currently working on conducting the epidemiological survey and rigorous examinations of suspects.

Tamayo Torres reported that 10 people are admitted to medical institutions for the care of patients with SARS-CoV-2, all with stable evolution; as well as, another 57 are under surveillance in isolation centers, which will make it possible to stop the chain of contagions.

The municipal epidemiologist also specified that the urban area is the one with the highest incidence, and there are involved bocks in several neighborhoods.
Likewise, he reported that there are no pediatric patients admitted and that the group aged 25-50 prevails among the sick.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began in the country in March 2020, "Amancio" has reported 25 cases, of which 14 are in their communities, with their families, and incorporated into social life without complications.
