Neos first flew to the Matanzas airport on December 25, 2015.

Italy's Neos airlines will add flights to the Juan Gualberto Gómez International Airport in Varadero beach starting on December 24, after two and a half years of absence.

Matanzas, Cuba.- According to Liuba Quintero, head of the airport's operations department, a flight by Neos, which is present in 71 destinations in several countries, will arrive that day.

With its return to Varadero, four Cuban tourist destinations will welcome the airline after its presence in Havana, Holguin, and Cayo Largo del Sur, she said.

Quintero added that Neos’ return to Varadero will increase the flow of visitors from Italy, one of Cuba’s major markets during the peak tourist season, running from November to April.

Founded in 2001, Neos is headquartered in Somma Lombardo, with Milan-Malpensa as its main airport.

Weekly flights depart for major tourist destinations in southern Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. (PL)
