With the presence of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro, and the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, the Cuban Parliament continues its debates on issues of national importance on Friday.

Havana, Cuba.- On this second day of the 1st Ordinary Session of the National Assembly of the People's Power(Parliament), in its 10th Legislature, the link between lawmakers and the inhabitants of the territories for which they were elected, food, price control and the energy system are being on debate.

The parliamentarians are currently discussing the Draft Agreement that regulates their relationship with the voters that elected then, an issue that was pending since Thursday.

On Friday, the lawmakers will assess the enforcement of the Food Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security Law, a regulation that seeks to improve the processes of production, transformation, commercialization and consumption of food, based on the endogenous capacities of each territory.

The effectiveness of the measures taken for price control will also be debated in Parliament, since the constant increases in the prices of several products and services continue to be a major concern for citizens.

The population will also be interested in the debates on the current situation and prospects of the country’s energy system, a sector which has suffered from instability in recent times due to plant breakdowns and fuel shortages. (PL)
