Deputy Prime Minister Inés María Chapman said she was satisfied with the debates of the deputies of the 10th Legislature of the Cuban Parliament, who are concluding today their First Ordinary Period of Sessions.

Havana, Cuba.- The issues addressed in the National Assembly of People’s Power (NAPP) are essential, they are in the daily conversations and concerns of the Cuban population, of which we are a part, she said in exclusive statements to Prensa Latina.

Among the various issues addressed by the legislative body since Thursday, she mentioned Cuba’s foreign policy, the results of the high price control process, the policy of comprehensive care for children, teenagers, and young people, and food production.

On this last point, she considered that NAPP members expressed criteria with great depth and precision, when analyzing the implementation of the Food Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security Law, one of the most debated issues yesterday.

Chapman, who is a deputy for the municipality of Banes, in the eastern province of Holguin, added that there are still very important issues to be discussed, such as the current situation and prospects of the national electricity system, and the behavior of the economy in the first half of the year.
