Solidarity meetings with social organizations from a dozen countries will be held parallel to the 10th Congress of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) in Cuba, the organizers of the event informed on Thursday.

Havana, Cuba.- At a press conference chaired by the CDR National Coordinator and Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Gerardo Hernandez, they assured that the Congress of Cuba’s largest mass organization will be attended by delegations from 12 countries from Latin America, the United States, Asia, and Europe.

After the sessions of the event, scheduled for September 26-28, solidarity meetings for unity, peace, and integration of the peoples, promoted by these solidarity groups, will be held.

On the morning of September 29, work projections will be exchanged with social groups, including the Patriotic Front of Vietnam and the Front for the Development of Laos, which have close links with the CDR.

It will be an opportunity to strengthen ties with other associations that play similar social roles, like the Russian Civic Chamber, with which there were exchanges of delegations recently, Hernandez said.

On the same day, in the afternoon, the annual meeting of the Continental Front of Communal Organizations (FCOC) will take place. The meeting is expected to be attended by approximately 38 community activists from Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Ecuador, the United States, Spain, Russia, Vietnam and Laos.

According to Hernandez, who is also a member of the Council of State, the Congress will be attended by 480 delegates and 120 guests from all Cuban provinces who previously undertook a strong mass movement to strengthen and revitalize the organization. (PL)
