Cubana de Aviación airline informed that Argentine fuel suppliers abruptly interrupted their service

Intellectuals, trade unions, and newspapers condemned the economic, commercial, and financial blockade by the United States and the refusal of local fuel suppliers to serve Cubana de Aviación, which caused the suspension of flights to Argentina.

Buenos Aires.- The Cuban airline informed on Wednesday that Argentine companies abruptly interrupted their service, although the airline operations are authorized by the National Civil Aviation Administration of Argentina.

According to the statement, the entities invoked the provisions of Washington’s coercive measures.

For this reason, Cubana de Aviación was forced to cancel flights CU360 and CU361 on April 23 and 24.

In an article, the renowned journalist and analyst Stella Calloni pointed out that “it is impossible not to analyze that this would indicate that the Argentine Government, which suspended Aerolíneas Argentinas flights to Havana, does not allow Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales to supply Cubana with fuel.”

"Thus, the Executive of Javier Milei has decided to join a blockade of more than 60 years against Cuba, a record of a medieval siege in the history of humankind, which was reinforced in 1996 with the Helms-Burton Act and deepened to the point of suffocation, with more than 250 new measures by the Donald Trump Administration, which were sustained by President Joe Biden," she added.

The Aeronautical Personnel Association of Argentina criticized what happened, demanded the end of the US blockade, and expressed their solidarity with Cuba and its Revolution.

The Central de Trabajadores-Autónoma, in turn, condemned that Argentina “is shamefully bowing to the criminal blockade of the United States.”

"We express our repudiation and unwavering solidarity with Cuba," the organization said on its profile on X.

Likewise, the political scientist Atilio Borón accused Milei of being a lackey of the empire by taking actions of this kind and others such as consenting to the theft of a Venezuelan airplane.

The newspaper Página 12 warned that the refusal by the supplying companies resonates amid Milei’s last gestures of total alignment with the White House, expressed in the president’s recent actions with Southern Command General Laura Richardson. (PL)
