Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel presided over the inauguration of important economic and social development works in this central province, on the eve of the main rally for the 26th of July National, Rebellion Day.
Sancti Spíritus, Cuba.- His tour began with the reopening of the Zaza Hotel, a flagship work of the tourism sector in this central part of the country. It underwent an all-out repair to turn it into the main recreational center with dozens of rooms ready for the summer.
The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (PCC) is accompanied by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, Deivy Pérez, a member of the Central Committee of the PCC, Juan Carlos García, Minister of Tourism, and authorities of the Party and the Government of Sancti Spíritus.
The President congratulated the hotel workers and said he was surprised by the progress of the construction work in just one month, a period in which the hotel has been completely transformed.
In an exchange with its director, Pablo Osorio, he learned about the remodeling process that has enabled the first 30 rooms, the swimming pool, and extra-hotel service areas to be put into operation.
He praised the quality of the works of the facility operated by Islazul, located 10 kilometers east of the provincial capital, next to the great artificial lake, the Zaza Dam, the island’s largest aquarium.
The Cuban president has scheduled other visits to inaugurate or check other public works. (PL)
