Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX) on Tuesday highlighted the support of fellow citizens living in 37 countries, who signed a statement strongly rejecting the hatred campaign orchestrated by the United States against Havana.
Havana, Cuba.- On his official Twitter account, Ernesto Soberón, director-general of MINREX Consular Affairs and Attention to Cuban Residents Abroad, pointed out that 55 associations and groups in different parts of the world ratified their support for the Cuban people against media terrorism touched off in the United States.
On July 28, Cubans living abroad and associations issued a joint statement condemning cyberattacks and incitement to violence against Cuba.
The statement, published on the Nación y Emigración website, also rejected the tightening of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for over 60 years and also considered as the major drawback to Cuba's economic development.
GREEK PEOPLE MAINTAIN SOLIDARITY WITH CUBA, MEP SAYS
The Greek Politician currently serving as a Member of the European Parliament (EP) for the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos on Tuesday said Greek people maintain their solidarity with Cuba despite his country´s inadmissible steps on Cuba.
In an interview published on the Cuban parliament's official website, Nikolaou-Alavanos condemned that the Greek administration "ran" at the call from the United States and signed the "provoking" joint declaration by EP Foreign Ministers.
Nikolaou-Alavanos branded such action as direct interference in Cuba´s internal affairs, despite deeply involving Greece in threatening scenarios and plans, as well as taking a stance that does not match most of the Greek people's opinion.
"Greek people have historically expressed their solidarity and support for the Cuban people, and firmly condemn the imperialist plans," Nikolaou-Alavanos stated.
Regarding destabilizing attempts on Cuba and media campaigns against the Cuban Revolution, Nikolaou-Alavanos said that these actions are an "organized provocation" and prove imperialists' hypocrisy, who deny the negative impact of the inhuman economic, commercial and financial US blockade.
He said that the KKE "unequivocally condemns the provocative actions that seek to overthrow the conquests of the Cuban people and its Revolution, in addition to rejecting any scenario of imperialist intervention in the Caribbean nation, under the pretext of so-called "human rights."
Likewise, Nikolaou-Alavanos considered unacceptable latest statements by EU and EP officials, who speak of alleged violations committed by the Cuban Government, "arbitrary arrests, torture, and disappearances," things that have nothing to do with reality.
Nikolaou-Alavanos expressed his solidarity with the Cuban government and people, whose internationalist actions inspire Greece´s workers-popular movement.
SUBVERSIVE ACTIONS AGAINST CUBAN GOVERNMENT DENOUNCED IN CHINA
Beijing.- Cuban diplomats on Wednesday denounced in Shanghai, eastern China, the media campaign launched to disqualify the Caribbean nation's Government and also the financing by the United States to the promoters of a social riot.
During a lecture with authorities, academics, and journalists from that municipality, Cuban Consul General to Shanghai Nestor Torres pointed out that the crusade in media seeks to discredit the authorities for the management of the health situation, worsened by a rise of Covid-19.
Torres referred to Washington's monetary support to opposition groups working to instigate disturbances such as those that occurred on July 11.
But he stressed that amid this hostile environment, Cuba receives several expressions of solidarity and the international wave of condemnation of the economic, financial, and commercial blockade imposed by the White House for more than 50 years is growing.
At that point, Torres expressed gratitude for the aid sent from China and the support by Shanghai authorities to promote an airlift with Havana.
He also commented about his Government's actions to face the effects derived from the US blockade and at the same time move towards the development of prosperous and sustainable socialism. (PL)
