More than thirty Spanish parties and organizations joined the initiative that condemns a new international media campaign against Venezuela

The Movement of Solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution in Spain today expressed its support for Venezuela, 'in the face of the new interference campaign by the United States and its allies.

Madrid.- More than thirty Spanish parties and organizations joined the initiative that condemns ‘a new international media campaign against Venezuela and a diplomatic offensive that seeks to distort the facts that led to the legitimate disqualification of the ultra-right-wing leader Maria Corina Machado’.

The group, called Mosorebo, affirmed that the media ‘hide the fact that Mrs. Machado has a history of coup d’état and represents the extremist sectors of the global ultra-right, which in Venezuela have sown violence in the country, since the coup d’état of 2002, the guarimbas of 2014 and 2017’.

They specified that in 2014 she was dismissed as a deputy, "for having accepted to be an alternate ambassador of another country (Panamá) to intervene against Venezuela in the OAS, violating the constitution and the laws of the Republic."

Then, Mosorebo explained that Machado is disqualified for having committed crimes, "that would imply severe prison sentences in any country in the world, even in the countries that defend her.’ Among them, they cited ‘lying in her sworn declarations of assets, being a public official’, and ‘making active calls for a military invasion against Venezuela (…)."

In the communiqué, the solidarity movement in Spain condemned the ‘ultimatum of the United States’ and ‘the threats and attempts to disregard the order of the Supreme Court of Justice’.

The Bolivarian Platform of Solidarity with Venezuela, Izquierda Unida (IU), Communist Party of Spain, 26 de Julio Group, State Coordinator of Solidarity with Cuba, and the Union of Communist Youth of Spain, among others, signed the text. (PL)
