Artistic summer tour in Majibacoa

Las Tunas artists have shared their creations in different municipalities of the province, as part of summer tours designed by the Provincial Directorate of Culture.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Recently, part of the local artists visited Majibacoa, leaving behind beautiful experiences. The Onilé folklore company performed at the theater of the Eusebio Valera Pérez House of Culture in Calixto. Its director, Josefina Taylor, told 26Digital:

"Our collective shared in this land some brushstrokes of the group's work in these 25 years of existence in defense of traditions such as the French-Haitians, Yoruba, Congo, the peasant and popular dances. It is a pleasure that the people (including children and young people) have fun with Cuban culture."

People enjoy Cuban culture expressionsAt the same time that this cast was showing its brilliance, the instrumentalist Alexánder Mayo delighted combatants and others in the Francisco Vega municipal museum. He commented: "It was not only an opportunity to play the guitar, as I also learned data from the history of the town in the voice of some of its protagonists. I came to share my art and they shared their knowledge. It was very pleasant and refreshing."

While he enchanted those present with 19th-century contradanzas, some Brazilian music or Venezuelan waltz, in the Tres Copas popular council the singer-songwriter Ríchard Gómez and the painter Liusan Cabrera brought the population closer to the trova and basic parameters to interpret a pictorial work, something that especially captivated the little ones.

"After the quarantine, being able to interact with the public is satisfactory. This initiative shows that it does not take great resources to spread the art and that people have a good time," said Ríchard.

While the author of Guarapo frío shared his own and Silvio Rodríguez's themes, the virtuoso of the brush provided participants with tools to appreciate an artistic piece. "I contributed to his knowledge about planes, symmetry and other elements, but with an understandable language so that even the infants knew what it was about. Many say: I do not understand that work because I am not a painter; that is a mistake because it works for a recipient," Liusan said.

It is not the first time that this painter has lived similar experiences since he was an art instructor in the municipality of Manatí he has shared his knowledge with the people at some point. That is why he stated with conviction: "We must bring art to communities, to those who cannot go to the capital city. Art is not for an age group, but for all of humanity. That we can contribute our grain of sand is beautiful. We all have the right to culture."

For his part, singer-songwriter Daniel Velázquez (Gato) performed in the El Pinchazo community, about two kilometers from the Las Tunas-Holguín highway. "People who live far from the city environment are sometimes the most grateful and they nurture us spiritually as artists."

The teenagers Dirlis Castro and Rolando García, of the amateur talent of the province, were also inserted in the activities. "It was nice interacting especially with the kids," he said. "It is an unforgettable experience to reach the hearts of people from other places, beyond our city," she claimed.

These tours included the presentation on July 31 in the municipality of Manatí, with the Mariachi Tunas and other artists. Actions are planned for August in the remaining territories of Las Tunas.
