With the certainty that dawn is not a portion of hope, but hope in itself, more than twenty artists from Las Tunas, inside and outside the national geography, have come together to give life to the poem "Ya amanecerá" ( Dawn is coming), by the young singer and songwriter Andrés Alejandro Sedeño Licea.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- The initiative is part of the cultural wave that artists lead from social isolation and becomes an invitation from the different manifestations of culture to stay at home and appeal to sensitivity and collective responsibility as key elements to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
Sedeño Licea, belonging to the Barbarito Diez Music and Entertainment Marketing Company, from Las Tunas, told the Cuban News Agency that Ya amanecerá is about the current situation that the world faces against the presence of this disease, and he thought that instead of a song he could make a poem.
Then I had the idea of starring with artists from the territory, who are currently in and out of Cuba, and that's how 24 arts professionals and the media sent their fragments of the text, as a promise to keep us united and hopeful, added the young creator.
Through phrases that have or not to do with their respective professions, the poem comes in the voices of exponents such as the actor and director of the Teatro Tuyo troupe, Ernesto Parra, and the actress Aixa Prowl; the multifaceted actor Yuri Rojas, known as the Clown Pedacito; and the journalist Gianny López Brito, recently awarded with the Juan Gualberto Gómez National Prize for Journalism on television.
The troubadour Iraida Williams; the president of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in Las Tunas and director of the Cubaclamé Danzonera Orchestra, Ana Irma Pérez Perelló, and the president of the provincial branch of the Union of Writers and Artists, Lourdes Jacobo, are other virtuosos of the culture that joined the initiative.
Outside the borders of the Balcony of Eastern Cuba, such a noble gesture brought together the dancer Ulises Espinosa, the troubadour Norge Batista and the announcer Magdiel Pérez.
What started as an invitation -at the beginning of the current epidemiological scenario by COVID-19- through the social networks of the also member of the AHS in Las Tunas, Andrés Alejandro, for people to be motivated to tell their stories of love and thus turn them into a song, it is now a message of optimism and hope that transcends borders and invites, from art, to wait for that new dawn.
