Actress María del Pilar Aguillón has passed awayActress María del Pilar Aguillón, founder of the Los Zahoríes puppet theater, died here.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Ana Rosa Díaz, actress of that Company tells us that “Los Zahoríes was founded on September 14, 1971, by a group of young people who went to train in Havana as theater instructors; and Pilar was there. She came from a family of artists, mostly musicians, and became an experienced actress.

"He spent her whole life here until she decided to retire. Unfortunately, she has passed away; an extremely excellent person, with an incredible ability to express herself, even with a certain age and years of experience.

"She had a lot of talent in the manipulation of puppets; I was her disciple myself when I started in the Company. She was an excellent puppeteer, with tremendous feelings, wonderful, everyone loved her."

Sensitivity was always one of Pilar’s greatest charms; her life was dedicated to acting for children, a profession she proudly exercised.
