Las Tunas, Cuba.- The Company of Metallic Structures (Metunas is its commercial brand) presents in the commercial event its prestige as a manufacturer of structures for warehouses or factories, together with its proposals in aluminum and glass carpentry. For its part, the Vascal crafts industry exhibits textile garments, sports equipment, items for construction, and wood and plastic derivatives.
Muebles Ludema aims to break through in the Caribbean market, as its assortments for rooms have as credentials the honor of furnishing high standard hotels recently opened in Cuba, such as the Gran Manzana Kempinski and the Iberostar Grand Packard, both in the country's capital. As well, the Thaba saddlery shows a prototype of household gloves.
Las Tunas, however, brings to ExpoCaribe far fewer representatives than other provinces in the region to the East of the island, as revealed the list of participants registered on the official website of the Fair. Santiago de Cuba confirmed the presence of 72 of its State entities, Granma de 10 and Holguín more than 15. In total, some 130 Cuban companies and 35 firms from 15 nations, including Trinidad and Tobago, Granada, Suriname, Saint Lucia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Panama and the Netherlands.
"The re-launch of ExpoCaribe will make it possible to bring foreign capital flows to the eastern region, while at the same time it will be a favorable space to strengthen our country's relations with the Greater Caribbean," Ileana Núñez Mordoche, vice minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (Mincex), said at a working meeting of the Organizing Committee of the event in the so-called Heroic City.
The Fair, said Núñez Mordoche, includes several collateral meetings such as the 12th Business Forum of the Greater Caribbean, sponsored by the Association of Caribbean States (AEC); and the 20th Session of the Cuba-Mexico Business Committee, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba. The administrative committee of the Partial Scope Commercial Agreement between Cuba and Guatemala will also meet.
ExpoCaribe trade fair is returning to Santiago de Cuba, after a hiatus of 11 years. It is held at the Heredia Theater exhibit grounds, with the participation of entrepreneurs from 22 countries and national exporters and importers.
