Within the framework of the academic improvement actions being carried out by health professionals in Las Tunas, Dr. Ernesto Guevara de la Serna General Teaching Hospital is celebrating the achievements of Doctor Alina de la Caridad Torreblanca Xiques, who obtained the degree of Doctor of Science with the proposal Methodology for the treatment of the content, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the lower digestive tract.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Alina, on the stage of the largest teaching unit of the University of Medical Sciences of Las Tunas, demonstrated the relevance and impact of her research, the product of four years of scientific research to improve the quality of the services provided to the population of Las Tunas.

Torreblanca Xiques emphasized that the results are of great importance in medical routines and are based on the improvement of theoretical-methodological work in terms of the Gastroenterology resident, a future specialist.

Doctor of Science Nora María Orive Rodríguez, president of the results evaluation board, praised the value of the study, stating that it constitutes an approach to optimizing the teaching-learning processes in Gastroenterology.

She also emphasized that the research emerges as a tool for the use of the teaching staff and specialists due to the impact that these diseases have on the state of health of the inhabitants of this territory.
