Kingston.- According to the Cuban Ambassador in Kingston Ines Fors, about 40 nurses arrived in Jamaica to join more than 200 professionals from Cuba who contribute to the welfare of the population, under the principles of humanity and altruism.

The head of Cuban diplomacy highlighted the reception made by Jamaican authorities, who recognized Cuba's important contribution to the provision of healthcare services in this nation.

The nursing staff will work for three years in many health institutions, although the main purpose is to work live in the communities, providing a quality, timely and efficient service.

Since 1976, Cuban health professionals have provided medical assistance in Jamaica, supported by a technical collaboration agreement in force between both countries. (PL)
