The Cuban President at the Dr. Ernesto Guevara Hospital

The President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel weighed the results of the Dr. Ernesto Guevara general teaching hospital, in the province of Las Tunas, even in the midst of the difficult conditions facing the country.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- During his stay in that assistance center as part of the second government visit to the territory, the Cuban President said that Guevara professionals show good indicators in the care of the population, the performance of surgical interventions and the different services, among which the orthopedics stand out, which is a result of the tenacity and love with which health professionals give themselves to work.

Díaz-Canel became interested in the development of the different specialties, teaching, material conditions of the institution; and dialogued with patients from one of the postpartum wards about the care they receive, the health status of newborns, and the neonatology ward, a service with indicators of excellence in the care of newborns with serious complications for life.

At the end of the visit to the main care center in the province of Las Tunas, the Cuban President and his delegation visited the Tanque de Buena Vista cultural plaza, where he toured part of that public space and was greeted with affection by the citizens who were there listening to music and enjoying a cool night; as well he visited La Parrillada restaurant.

In conclusion of the first day of his visit to the province, Díaz-Canel gave statements to the national and foreign press that accompanied him on his tour, and offered an overview of the current situation in the country, the measures that are taken in face of the stubborn hostile policy of the United States government that stars in a ruthless attack against the Cuban people, and everything that needs to be done to maintain the economic and social achievements of the Revolution.

“In the face of the hostility of the current United States administration, we are willing to resist with the same determination with which we are prepared for respectful and peer-to-peer dialogue, the Cuban President said.

Díaz-Canel made statements to the media
