The rescue of the manufacture of bioproducts for livestock and agriculture, the processing of disinfectant lines for the home, and the elaboration of syrups and other products will allow the gradual recovery of the productive capacities of the Biological and Pharmaceutical Laboratories Business Group (LABIOFAM) in Las Tunas.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- José Ángel Martínez Hernández, executive director of Production, Business, Quality, and Development of the entity, told the Cuban News Agency -exclusively- that they are working to start the commercialization of bioproducts for the treatment against pests affecting various crops.

There is still some resistance or rejection of these inputs so we are immersed in raising awareness based on knowledge about their peculiarities and potential without affecting the quality of food, which is one of the recurring concerns for peasants. We have verifications that these products show significant positive effects in the method from applied, integrated pest management, or a combination of both, Martínez Hernandez clarified.

In May, the company received traditional raw materials with considerable impact on its laboratories such as packaging, chlorine, and dyes, and they are already part of new commercial links that benefit, among others, the Provincial Company of Pharmacies and Optics with the sale in the retail networks of the province and the country.

The decentralization of a price group puts us in better conditions, although we are taking advantage of it to a minimum so as not to affect the costs of some products, thus we have managed to re-produce syrups with the particularity that identifies them and positions them in the preference of consumers, without that suffer changes in the acquisition value, said the manager.

Among LABIOFAM's forecasts is the consultation with potential clients for the recovery of the infusions market, which includes a wide range of teas for export, from innovative technological implements that improve infrastructural and logistical conditions.

The potential of the Business Group will begin to have a greater impact with the restructuring of the Biopreparations Plant, a work that joint efforts and will bring upward positive effects on the economy and development of the territory.
