The members of the Union of Journalists of Cuba are developing a comprehensive program of activities to celebrate the founding of the union, created on July 15, 1963. The event will last until November when the 11th Congress is scheduled.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- One of the most important actions of improvement has been the Colloquium 60 years of UPEC in Las Tunas towards a #JournalismInTransformation. The topics chosen were "Social Communication in the local context" and "Innovation Projects. What changes?"
Doctor in Sciences Zahira Ojeda Bello, academic of the University of Las Tunas, and Sergio Vargas Esperance, president of the Association of Jurists in the territory, detailed the relevance of the Communication Law by transversalizing each of the areas of life and the implications in the media spaces. They emphasized that it is a law for everyone and in all spaces, and not only for the media or institutional sphere. Likewise, the relationship of this norm with the Personal Data Protection norm.
Adalys Ray Haynes, president of the Provincial Executive, acknowledged that this was a debt owed to the journalistic sector of the province since it offers another view of this legal basis, and urged to continue knowing and studying its articles.

István Ojeda Bello, from 26 Newspaper, explained the significance of being part of the vanguard of Cuban media in the experiment that implies an innovative transformation of the press. And he highlighted the legal component for future contractual relations as service providers with their clients.
In addition to the aforementioned Colloquium, #UpecLasTunas convened for Wednesday 12 the constitution of the circle of journalists specialized in historical topics. On Friday, the 60th Anniversary Coin will be awarded to several colleagues. On Saturday, the 15th, an activity was conceived for the grassroots delegations in the north of the province, although the rest of the media designed their way of celebrating the birth date of a modern and innovative organization.
