Furnishings for the Havana Convention Palace.

The Havana Convention Palace will feature furnishings made in the LUDEMA Furniture basic business unit (UEB by its acronym in Spanish) de Las Tunas when leaders of the member countries of the Group of 77 plus China (G77 + China) meet on its premises in September.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Some 670 pieces of various shapes and sizes make up the shipment, endorsed by high standards of quality and comfort, destined for offices, meeting and protocol rooms, and other locations; as well as spaces in the nearby Palco Hotel, where the heads of state and government will also meet.

Dailie Sarría Cherry, director of the Engineering and Development group, told the Cuban News Agency in an exclusive interview that the task was completed in less than a month after the raw materials arrived at the entity, in a mission prioritized by the Cuban Furniture Industry (Dujo in Spanish).

We did exhaustive work with the plans, and we had to comply in the established period and with the necessary attributes for these purposes; everything with the seal of exquisiteness that ensures our firm; we had to work overtime, even on days off we were in the factory, but it was done without difficulty, said Sarría Cherry.

With recognized contributions to Cuban tourism, Ludema has managed to consolidate itself as a vanguard in the industry, thanks to the manufacture of products that today form part of the dissimilar areas of six hotels in Havana and ten works in execution in the western pole; to which this new order already materialized by the collective is added.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, in his capacity as president pro tempore of the G77 + China, convened the Summit of Heads of State and Government in Havana last June, on 15 and 16 September, under the theme "Current challenges of development: the role of science, technology and innovation".

Cuba assumed the pro tempore presidency of the Group in January of this year, the first time that the Caribbean country has led this negotiating bloc of developing nations, founded in 1964, which currently has 134 member states.
