Delegation of Las Tunas to the 10th Congress of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution

The delegation of Las Tunas to the 10th Congress of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) was flagged off at the Major General Vicente García González Revolution Plaza.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The representation is composed of 25 delegates and four guests among the best of Las Tunas society in the neighborhoods; women and men of different ages, all of them grassroots leaders in their communities where their selection began.

The representatives also stand out in compliance with revolutionary vigilance and neighborhood mobilization in tasks such as volunteer work, blood donations, the fight against the Aedes aegypti mosquito, and - in recent years - COVID-19.

Karen González Velázquez, a member of the Provincial Executive Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), congratulated the delegates and expressed his confidence that they will contribute to the Congress' discussions on very important issues to the development of Cuban society.

The process of the 10th CDR Congress began at the grassroots level in Havana on January 27 and continued throughout the country with the holding of neighborhood meetings.

On September 26, 27, and 28, the conclave will be held in the Cuban capital and the main topics will be the need to maintain the revolutionary vigilance that guarantees citizens' safety, the social attention in the neighborhoods, the preventive work, and the fight against crime and social indiscipline, among others.
