Melissa Clothing base business unit, from Las Tunas, is a group belonging to the Industries Union that is characterized by commitment and dedication in each assigned task, which earned them the Labor Prowess Flag.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- The quality of the human capital that makes up this entity was essential so that in the summer months they could meet the demand for school uniforms -24,843 units-, destined for the provinces of Matanzas, Artemisa, Havana, and the Las Tunas territory itself; in addition to the manufacturing of 93,491 garment units destined for the Ministry of Domestic Trade (MINCIN, by its Spanish acronym).
"The group is motivated by the delivery of the Labor Prowess distinction; we feel proud of the recognition of our work because it is everyone's dedication.”
"Our seamstresses changed their vacations, and they were helping each other until the weekends but could fulfill the task, with our social purpose, which is the commitment we have and will always maintain," Suzel Carreras Matos, secretary of the union bureau, said.
Likewise, three of its workers -with more than 20 years of outstanding career- were awarded the José Ramón Martínez medal, martyr of the sector.
The seven workshops that make up the large textile family of Melissa Clothing will receive on their premises the flag that recognizes the efforts of those who strive daily to make the motto of "Elegance and Style to Dress Life" a reality.
