Electricity consumption has increased at an average rate between 110 and 115 MW/h per day

Although in the accumulated for the month of August the province does not surpass the consumption plan, there is concern about the overdraft that the measuring equipment (electricity meters) has been registering in recent days.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- According to the engineer Anislei Santiesteban Velázquez, director of the commercial services business unit of the Electric Company, Las Tunas must spend 1,788 MW / h daily, but as of August 20 that amount has increased at an average rate between 110 and 115 per day, due to causes attributable to the state sector.

Although there are several involved, the manager mentioned, due to their negative impact, the Public Health services, the Food and Fishing companies, and the Amancio Rodríguez sugar mill; although his appreciation is that, in a general sense, the discipline has been lowered with respect to the savings measures implemented since the previous year.

How to understand that the University of Medical Sciences appears with an overdraft in consumption, if it is not currently in the educational maelstrom, or that in the inspections carried out by specialists from the Electric Company and the National Office for the Control of the Rational Use of Energy (ONURE) find lights lit in the corridors of the institutions in broad daylight?

The foregoing shows the need to intensify action among all the factors responsible for ensuring and demanding efficient use of electricity, from the energy councils at all levels to the Union and the management councils of each entity.

Therefore, a higher awareness is imposed on the observance of the regulations established to keep consumption within the assigned plan to the province, municipality and each institution and organization.
