Traffic signs are an indispensable element for road safety, so everyone must contribute to they care

More than 800 traffic signs have been replaced in Las Tunas during the current year, as part of a vital activity for the coexistence on public roads to be optimal and to avoid accidents.

Las Tunas, Cuba - Raúl Galiano Cruz, head of the Provincial Center of Traffic Engineering, said that these actions take on particular relevance on the roads leading to the resorts, where they replace and rehabilitate both vertical and horizontal signs, the latter reflected on the pavement.

He highlighted the work on the road Las Tunas-Puerto Padre, on the roads from this municipality to "Jesús Menéndez" and from it, specifically from the community of Lora to La Llanita beach.

"In this area, the studies showed a permissible speed of 80 km/h, although a limit of 60 km was established. The idea is to provide the greatest possible security for families who move to the recreational areas and that they enjoy the summer to the fullest, without the occurrence of unfortunate events," he said.

At the same time, he added, we also worked on improving signage from the town of Puerto Padre to La Boca and in the south of the province, on the road linking Las Tunas and the municipality of Jobabo.

Galiano Cruz urged the entire population to contribute to the care of these means because when only one sign is affected, there is already a potential risk of an accident. In this regard, he denounced the vandalism of some citizens who attack this heritage, which puts everyone in danger and causes significant damage, because the State invests significant resources to protect the lives of drivers and pedestrians.

He stressed that traffic signs are an indispensable element for safe driving on the road, both during the day and at night, and therefore their knowledge is crucial.
