The National Revolutionary Police (PNR) celebrates its 62nd anniversary on January 5, after a year full of challenges and with constant vigilance to guarantee the safety of the people.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- In a political-cultural ceremony, the members of this armed institution commemorated the anniversary and made clear their commitment to be faithful to the Revolution and serve the country at the price of any sacrifice.
A whole year of confrontation with the pandemic, together with their daily work against crime, illegalities and social indiscipline was recognized during this day. A group of consecrated policemen received the Medal for Distinguished Service for the fulfillment of the assigned missions.
Difficult tasks have had to face the PNR, guided by duty when the North American empire tries to undermine the victorious process of the Revolution. Moments that have marked the actions of our fighters, but have also made it possible to demonstrate the values and qualities inherited from our combative tradition.
The Distinction in Praise of Virtue, the greatest moral encouragement conferred by the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) to combatants and civilians of the institution, was given during the celebration to several of those present. Likewise, the provincial Bureau of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), together with the Government, recognized the provincial police system, which in turn gave special recognition to the Jesús Menéndez municipal station and the provincial Investigations Unit.
The attitude of these tireless guardians of citizen tranquility in these 62 years was fully appreciated, as well as their fighting against the attacks of the enemy in the attempts to destroy their forces, in the presence of Manuel René Pérez Gallego, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the PCC and the Governor Jaime Ernesto Chiang Vega.
