President Miguel Díaz-Canel Chaired Working Meeting with Authorities of Las Tunas

Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Republic of Cuba, today led a meeting with the main political and government authorities of the province of Las Tunas to analyze different socio-economic issues.

José Ramón Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), and Manuel Marrero Cruz, prime minister, also participated in the exchange related to the Ordering Task, the production of food in the agricultural sector and the confrontation with the COVID-19.

The fight against the so-called liners, hoarders and resellers were also topics of the agenda on this day in which René Pérez Galllego, first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party in the province, and the deputy Prime ministers Roberto Morales Ojeda and Alejandro Gil Fernández were present.

Marino Murillo Jorge, head of the Commission for the Implementation and Development of the Guidelines, and other leaders from different spheres were also attending.

Jaime Chiang Vega, the governor in this eastern territory, gave an explanation of the current situation in food production and the measures adopted, after exchanging with the population, mainly related to the new prices, as well as the procedures to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before, the President held similar exchanges in the provinces of Havana, Pinar del Río, Artemisa, Mayabeque, Matanzas, Villa Clara, Sancti Spíritus, Guantánamo, Santiago de Cuba and Granma.
